Farming practices description

I steward the land using small scale, intensive, no till practices. Keeping soil covered, keeping the soil planted and disturbing it as little as possible. Giving back what is taken from the soil after each crop by adding compost often/ or cover cropping. I also have experience working with cows, laying/meat chickens and goats.

Planned farming enterprises

  • Cut flowers
  • Livestock
  • Vegetables

Farming enterprises description

My family and I would like to start a small scale vegetable farm (wholesale/csa/farm stand) with you pick flowers, berries and animals integrated into it. Gina is a yoga teacher and we would also like to integrate yoga on the farm. Also would like to do small off grid farm stays.

Infrastructure needed

  • Farm buildings
  • Housing

Description of infrastructure needed

A simple house and a barn would be nice. David is handy so even something that needs work would be fine as long as its not to bad. We are also open to raw land and willing to build it up as we go. We are pretty flexible.

Additional Information

Our family has been looking for land for many years. We have been working and living on various farms with our daughter Andes giving her the very best life we can. David has been farming full time for 11 seasons now and would like to start putting time and energy into something he can pass down to future generations. Living and saving on a farmers salary while on the search for land has been challenging but we have faith that something will come our way.
