I am now logging full time with my horses and we needed to find another property with more timber value to support my business model.  For this reason we are moving to a woodlot to Northfield, VT.  If we were going to continue farming there is no way we would leave this spot.  This really is a special small farm.  It is completely set up for a small farmer to come in and get work immediately, with no major infrastructure needed.  The community is decidedly agricultural, with several dairies on the road and many homestead size gardens and livestock operations.  Our road gets enought traffic that a roadside farm stand would work nicely, and the markets for grass fed meat are nearly unlimited here.  We did very little advertizing over the years we were here, and local buyers were strong supporters of ours.  We have amazing neighbors here, and we have been able to access additional pasture acreage owned by our neighbor to the south.  My auto mechanic lives across the road, and my other neighbor works on my tractor.  They are top notch people, and I will be sad to leave them behind.
The school system in Randolph has been super for our daughter, now 12.  We have easy access to I-89, for quick commuting to Montpelier, Burlington, or WRJ.  Vermont Technical College is about 5 mins down the road, and in addition to the Randolph Schools we have the Randolph Technical Carreer Center down in town.  Our town library is great and the Chandler Center for the Arts provides excellent access to high quality music, visual arts, speakers, plays, and more.  For a small, rural location Randolph has a lot going on.
