Additional Information

Description

The 145-Acre farm currently includes 1.5 acres of mixed vegetable crops, 4000SQFT of hoop house space, 1-acre sapling apple orchard, approximately 125 acres of woodlot, and 20 acres of pasture, some of which would also be suitable for expanding the gardens or orchard. Buildings include a 45ftx60ft updated barn (1850's), the farmhouse, a packing shed with walk-in cooler, a workshop, several small toolsheds, and a recently-renovated 1500 SQFT house. The farm was settled in the early 1800s and managed primarily for sheep and apples through the early 1900s. From the 1920's through 60's the "Greeley Farm" was an award-winning small dairy and homestead. The current owners purchased the farm in 2008 after a period of neglect and have since run the farm as a productive business supplying vegetables and eggs to Waldo county restaurants and CSA customers. Owners also raise beef, goats, and pigs for their own consumption, but there is ample space and infrastructure to expand those operations. The "Barnette" is an 1850's barn on a modern (1990's) foundation, set just behind the owners' farmhouse. Extensive renovations are currently underway (expected completion by Summer 2017), providing 1500SQFT of living space. Two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, with an open floor plan downstairs between the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Heating provided by 2 Rinnai propane heaters and a woodstove. Current owners wish to continue living on the farm and being involved with aspects of running the property, but are looking for an individual or small family to partner with in the management of the farm, with the possibility of transferring ownership of some aspects of the business (but not land) over time.
