The house is a post and beam cape (1 ½ stories) built in the mid 1850’s. The foundation was reinforced about twelve years ago. new insulation and sheetrock, new lined chimney, electrical, plumbing, siding and windows. Some partitions were removed, exposing the original hand-hewn beams and created a more open floorplan downstairs.

Additional Information

Description

Our 36 acre property is located on the North Road in Sebec, Maine. It is a long, rectangular lot with an 850 foot road frontage on the north and an 800 foot frontage (south) on Harriman Pond. It is mostly high ground and primarily wooded in mixed hardwood (maple, birch, ash and beech). A young sugar bush is easily accessed on sloping ground. Old stone walls throughout the property indicate a history of homesteading in the late 1800s. There is a small farm pond on the property. We have an excellent, deep well with good-tasting water. The woodlot was selectively cut about 15 years ago, taking mostly poplar and releasing the more valuable hardwoods. Priced at $180,000 (see www.mainefarmlink.org Farm ID 2521 for more info)
