Additional Information
BlueWave Energy, a certified B-corporation with experience designing, developing and constructing agrivoltaic arrays in the Northeast, seeks farmers for one, two, or three agrivoltaic sites in Granville, Massachusetts.
- Site 1: 21 acres
- Site 2: 19 acres - an additional 5 acres within the perimeter fence will be planted with an apple orchard to be managed by the farmer/land-owner
- Site 3: 21 acres
Each site will feature a solar array designed to be compatible with varied agricultural uses. Panels are raised 10 feet off of the ground and inter-row spacing is 25 feet. The sites are a mixture of former cleared field and former forest and will be planted with a pollinator-friendly forage mix during/upon completion of construction. We are looking for someone who wishes to use one, two, or all three of our sites in Granville for hay or as extra pasture for their cows/goats/sheep/poultry. These sites are not suitable for over-wintering of animals. Due to the reporting requirements associated with farming in a solar array and the opportunity to take on additional vegetative maintenance of the site (i.e. fence maintenance) we will offer compensation on a per-acre basis to any farmer farming in this array. The arrangement will start at a 5-year agreement with the possibility to extend 20+ years. Water will be available on each site. BlueWave is willing to negotiate provision of additional agricultural infrastructure or equipment as needed. If you are interested in this opportunity, please reach out to Gabrielle Hayes at [email protected].
