Description

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) on behalf of the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) is soliciting proposals for the agricultural use of approximately 63 +/- acres of state-owned property located at the State Police Academy on West Brookfield Road in New Braintree, Massachusetts. Agricultural land consists of 9 field areas ranging from 0.47 acres to 26.18 acres.

NOTE: APPLICANTS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THE FIELDS HAVE RECENTLY BEEN AMENDED WITH PAPER FIBER AND BIOSOLIDS AND THAT THE NUTRIENT ANALYSIS OF BOTH PRODUCTS IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. FARMERS MUST EMPLOY SOIL CONSERVATION PRACTICES TO ENSURE THAT SOIL EROSION IS KEPT BELOW USDA NRCS “ANNUAL SOIL LOSS TOLERANCE” LEVELS. FIELDS MAY HAVE POPULATIONS OF PERENNIAL WEEDS. STONE WALL AT FIELD EDGES ALONG ROAD NEEDS TO BE MAINTAINED. THIS AREA SHALL BE KEPT CLEAR OF BRUSH AND VEGETATION AND THE VEGETATION SHALL BE MAINTAINED TO PREVENT UNSIGHTLY GROWTH AT THE DISCRETION OF THE MSP SPA
