Main barn is ~80ft long, 3 stories, wooden timberframe. Has adjoining barn buildings either end (see map in photos). Hay storage capacity unknown. Prior longtime tenant hauled it off to his own barn. Electric throughout, including lighting, little other modern improvements. Historically used for cows, horses, chickens, and gardening as a working farmstead. Fair condition, maintained by the family.

Additional Information

Property has been hayed seasonally for 20+ years. Former longtime tenant no longer working due to age. Seeking hay-for-maintenance or similar arrangement, but we are open to other options. The barn and adjoining buildings could be made available as well. The house itself is seasonally used by the current members of the family. Seasonal access for farm use could be arranged. The house unfortunately is not winterized. 

The field is dry except for the very bottom of the slope, and relatively steep. Historically used for corn, vegetable gardening, and livestock grazing. Access is from the top of the slope off New Chester Mt Rd and from the south off Chestnut St. There is a well at the top of the field which is active, but has a waterline break that needs to be repaired or re-routed. There is no fencing. 

Low-blush blueberries grow across the top 2-3 acres of the field. Two remaining apple trees at the bottom. We would be open to use for cultivation, animal grazing, or other uses in addition/instead of haying. Minor or tenant-managed improvements, like installing livestock fence, could be arranged. 

We do not know if/when the field has been limed. Same with soil testing. Limited maple trees on the property.
