Additional Information

Description

The land is currently used for hay, cut late to protect grassland bird habitat. In the recent past the upper field has been used for sunflowers and corn. The farm has also been used for grazing cattle.

There is a soil survey map available. The upper field of about 11 acres is Merrimac fine sandy loam, part 0-3% slopes and part 3-8% slopes, plus an area of Sundbury fine sandy loam, 0 to 3 % slopes.  The two middle fields of about 13 acres are Walpole fine sandy loam that is poorly drained.  The back field of about 11 acres is about half Walpole fine sandy loam and the other half Scituate fine sandy loam, 3 to 8 % slopes.

There are no maple taps available.

The land borders other farmland on both sides.

We are interested in exchanging land use for agriculture or grazing in part for cutting fields not in farm use.
