Additional Information

Description

Owner would like to provide an enthusiastic farmer an opportunity to develop a small farm operation in partnership. 2 acres of tillable land, 2 acres of pasture land, 10 acres of woodland. This land has been owned by the family for over 200 years. 1850 records show that George Martin Baker, owner's great, great grandfather and founder of the Marshfield Agricultural and Horticultural Society, had an active farm on the property. Most of the land was released to woodland in the early 1900s. In 1983 the remaining acres were put under a forest management plan (Chapter 61B). Owner purchased the property in 2004 and has been clearing invasive species with the help of goats, a sheep, alpaca, and a llama. They would like the land to be used for a sustainable farming project that would reflect its history.

Owner is primarily interested in forming a Partnership with a farmer interested in developing non-timber agroforestry products such as mushrooms, honey. greenery, ginseng, and wood crafts.
