Crows' Feat Farm is a 100-acre property located in Kensington, NH. 63 of its acres are in a conservation easement; most of the rest is held in current use. We are in the process of reestablishing this as a working farm along permaculture lines; a description of the farm and its proprietors can be found at crowsfeatfarm.org.
The property boasts rich farm soils, two ponds, extensive forestland, and a large open meadow. It is home to a wide variety of natural flora and fauna, including migratory birds and bees. Crows' Feat Farm is ideally located in Southern NH, about 15 miles south of Portsmouth and 60 miles north of Boston. Kensington is a rural town of 2000 souls with a rich agricultural history. This farm, formerly known as Rolling Ridge, was established in 1744, among the earliest settlements.
About ten acres are currently under cultivation with perennials (strawberries, kiwiberries, blueberries, raspberries, rhubarb, asparagus, fiddleheads, and various fruit trees) as well as a variety of annual vegetables. We also tap maple syrup and are raising chickens. We are looking to partner with area farmer(s) to expand the land under cultivation under a cooperative and regenerative farming model. Farmers can own and operate their individual farms, while supporting other farmers, via a cooperative arrangement.
