Additional Information

Description

1-2 leases totalling 17.5 acres of tillable land are available. The western lease (11.5 acres) has been farmed organically for the last 10 years.

The eastern lease (6 acres) has been hayed in the recent past. A one-acre pollinator patch abuts to the south.

Approximately 9 acres of prime soils on the western lease with 2.5 acres of state important soils.

The eastern lease is 6 acres of important soils.

Organic practices preferred due to Conservation Easement's protection of the aquifer. Any use of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides must be done in accordance with best management practices.

Farm management plan on file prepared by Southern RI Conservation District.

No structures other than deer fencing and movable equipment shed may be erected on the property due to its Conservation Easement.

Property is used by landowner for special events from time to time, though not generally open to the public. Public will be kept out of lease areas during events.

RFP attached. Please email your questions to [email protected]. Proposals are being reviewed on a rolling basis. We hope to select a new tenant by November 1st.
