Drilled well

Water sources details

We have 2 drilled wells, one providing functioning irrigation for the bog. The bog generally collects water and floods easily without irrigation by using the flash board riser/dam for controlling water level, likely a combination of spring and runoff from adjacent hill. There may be adjacent additional acre bog available for use, +4 acres woodland.

Barns, sheds or other structures

Farm infrastructure details

There are three buildings at the farmstead, a house, a barn and a garage. The garage and house are lived in, the barn could be available for use if interested.

Additional Information

Land include 5 acres of south facing, gently sloped hill, well ventilated hill. Good opportunity for orchard planting, hay/fodder production, grazing, with some rehab.  Historic farm, purchased from family owning farm for 110 years, utilizing land for cranberry bogs, grazing for cow/s, and fruit and vegetable production. Current begining apiary on site. Blueberry production nearby.

We purchased the land because of the open space and agricultural land, and looking for ways to steward it so that it can be maintened as open, agricultural land into the future.  We are open to many arrangements, including using/improving land for production as part of lease negotiation. We prefer organic farming, soil health and soil building farm methods, which are challanging for cranberries, though we do have a neigbor with more than 100 acres of bogs who is working on organic production in his bogs less than a quarter mile a way and a great resource.

The farm is 30 seconds from historic route 6A, at exit 3, accessible for on site market if desired.
