Additional Information

The Regional Water Authority (New Haven, CT) owns over 27,000 acres in New Haven and Middlesex counties.  Some agricultural fields are already rented for hay and Christmas trees.  There are about 60 acres of fields, in various towns, that are not being used and are available to rent.  Most are on public water supply watersheds, therefore we would limit the amount of disturbance and chemicals (pesticides and fertilizers) that could be applied.  Also, as mentioned above, most of the fields are not near sources of water.  A couple are near our water mains and could be irrigated if arrangements were made.

Available fields are found in:

Prospect - Matthews St. (2 ac.) and Tress Rd. (10 ac.)

Bethany - Downs Rd. (4 fields totalling 7 ac.), Sperry Rd. (3 ac.),

Woodbridge - Rt. 69 (2 ac.), Sperry Rd. (7 ac.), Rt. 63 (1.5 ac.)

Hamden - Downs Rd. (2 fields - 2.5 ac.)

North Branford - Sol's Path (3 ac.)

Haddam - Wiese Albert Rd. (3 fields - 5 ac.)
