The Stetson Farm and Forest was originally part of a much larger working dairy and woodlot operation until about 30 years ago. Now this 95 acres is ready for the energy of the next generation hopefully to be appreciated for the diverse beauty of the native grass pastures and wildlife sharing the forest and bog. While many large parcels are turning into subdivisions in Central Maine, we would love for this sanctuary to remain in sustainable agriculture such as pastured livestock, vegetable production, mushroom cultivation, native plant propagation and sales. Someone talented in crafts could find a treasure trove of ideas while exploring the deep woods. We have had many guests comment on how restorative it felt simply walking the half mile around the back field hay pastures on the mowed walking path following along the edge of the forest. Agritourism would defiantly find a niche here with the location between Bangor and Augusta on State Highway 222. Perfect location for farm stand, CSA, or even a rural B&B.

Housing: 2003 (24 x 44) Fleetwood manufactured home on cement slab with tie downs, attached insulated 12 x 44 sun-room with views south over the fenced pastures, as entry and relaxation space. The six full sized picture windows are warranted by Home Depot, even to the next owners! The passive solar gain is outstanding during the coldest winter days. Also attached is a three bay carport semi enclosed for two large vehicle parking, storage and work space. Propane forced hot air heat is supplemented by a large efficient wood-stove in sun-room. As we usually cut our own firewood, we heat with about 5 cords each year and use less than 100 gallons of propane for cooking, heat and occasional dryer. Three bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, open concept living, dining and kitchen area. The master bedroom has convenient walk in closet and private bright bathroom with linen closet.
