Additional Information

SUGAR HILL CRANBERRY CO. is a small family cranberry farm located in the small downeast coastal town of Columbia Falls where we grow three varieties of cranberries (Pilgrims are primarily a juice berry and great for wine making; Stevens is the most popular variety, and Howes, an heirloom variety dating back to the 1860s) on 11 acres of bogs. Prior to moving to Maine, John and Christine, lived on 130 acres of cranberry bogs in Massachusetts' cranberry country and have brought their experience and love of cranberry growing to Maine in 1998. They incorporate both new techniques and some of the "old ways" that Christine's relatives did back in the 1940s-50s. Sugar Hill Cranberry Co. is a fully developed Cranberry bog and operation located in the heart of Downeast Maine. The present owners are retiring and it is time for someone new to take the reins. There are five separate bogs total. Property conveys with all equipment and a willingness of the seller to dedicate a full season of training for the new owners. There is a spring fed pond and river water for irrigation. There is a a gravel pit on property. There is a rustic pickers camp with wood stove on the edge of the bogs. 62 acres in conservation. Full financial report available to serious inquiries.

Equipment list:

• harvest pump truck • small motor for winter/harvest flooding

• water harvester • propane Ford motor for irrigation (for the 2 acre bog)

• herbicide machine • seasonal camp building (has woodstove, bunks, etc.)

• 2 western picking machines • old livestock trailer for storage

• pruner • misc. supplies (burlap bags, sprinklers, etc.)

• JD diesel motor (for irrigation) • equipment (flatbed) trailer

Priced at $325,000 - updated as of 4/25/2022
