Description

The old farmstead at 121 Texas Hill Road in Hinesburg is the final 10 acre core of a farm established at this site in the late 1700s. The house, barn, and land is situated at the intersection of Texas Hill, Richmond, and North Roads in Hinesburg. Opportunities consist of old orchards and gardens, fallow field, and sites for greenhouses. The historic farm barn remains on the property. The land has been fallow for years but shows signs of productivity and fertility with large old-growth maples, surviving beds of asparagus, and abundant fruiting apple trees.
We hold full-time jobs in teaching and management but our family has been working during off-time to slowly resurrect the old farm. We are now interested in partnering with a farmer who has the expertise and vision to create a plan for revitalizing the old farmstead as a profitable agriculture business. Through a negotiated arrangement, we can provide land, cost-sharing for infrastructure investment, and business planning.
