The Easton Conservation Commission (Commission) is inviting proposals for tenancy at the Tufts Farm, including the occupancy and maintenance of the house, workshop and barn and the agricultural use of approximately 5 acres of farmland and fields on conservation land. The Commission is interested in proposals for enhancing the agricultural use of the site, using the publicly vetted Tufts Farm Master Plan as a general framework.

The tenant farm house is located on 3 acres of land that contain about 1.3 acres that are currently a field, with a 0.2-acre forested buffer to a stream. The 1,474 sf, cape-style single-family home with 2 bedrooms and ½ bath upstairs; and large kitchen/dining room, living room with fireplace, den/family room, additional room that could be a bedroom, and bathroom downstairs, and an unfinished full basement. This is a historic home and likely to have lead paint. It is serviced with town water and an onsite septic system. The outbuildings consist of a 306 sf. workshop,  868 sf. barn and 40 sf. shed. The adjacent conservation land has two fields (approximately 3.8 acres) that are also available. Water is available at the barn. Soils are listed as Hinckley loamy sand.

The town has performed recent work to clean the house, pest control, chimney and fireplace inspection, updated electrical panel and wiring, landscaping, clean workshop, barn and sheds, weed, prune and clean field edges for mower, remove old fencing, mow fields and add soil amendments and hire engineer for survey plan and proposed parking lot plan. Future town projects include replacing windows in house, workshop and barn, oil tank/burner inspections and update electric to the barn.
