Additional Information

Description

Land available (1.5 acres) for work trade lease in Haydenville, MA. Owners seek a motivated and enthusiastic person(s) with experience who can start, run and manage their own farm project independently. This is a lease in exchange for 5 hours/week helping the owner with projects (which could include help with haying, sugaring, orchard work, cidery work, help with horses, etc).

Although not formally a "farm incubator," the owners do wish to minimize the barriers to entry for aspiring and beginning farmers through access to land, infrastructure, knowledge, and a built in market. The land available for lease is 1.5 acres, with access to a farmstand, storage space and the owners farming knowledge.. In the past, beginning farmers have been successful in operating CSAs, selling from the farmstand, attending markets, and selling products to caterers and florists who provide services at weddings on the property.

About the overall property: Currently the farm hosts weddings (with in-house farm-to-table catering) and other events year around in addition to producing their own line of hard cider. Of the 140A, 20A are presently producing hay, maple syrup, and fruit.
