Additional Information

Description

This property is in a prime location for many operations. It is within 5 miles of the turnpike, 6 miles of route 1, 9 miles of Freeport and 15 minutes from Portland yet has a very rural atmosphere. The farm has been operated as a dairy replacement program raising holstein dairy heifers. The soil is very fertile and hay production is excellent. It is our hope that the farm will remain intact, yet the challenges of the location and the extensive road frontage allowing for easy development is a threat to maintaining that feature. (There are 2 roads fronting the property with approx. 1/2 mile of frontage.)

The house has been in neglect for several years. It was built approx in 1900 - and possibly rebuilt after a fire in 1931. The barn was rebuilt in 1931 after a fire. Unclear as to how much of the house was damaged. The septic is too old to function properly and the water supply is from a spring which is also not sufficient in most years. The heating system is still intact - a combination oil/wood boiler and forced hot water. It has 2 floors with the upstairs being set up as an apartment where family members have stayed in the past.

Priced at $600,000
